Methodological issues in the study of lexical ambiguity resolution

 Patrizia Tabossi

Abstract:
Lexical ambiguity resolution has been the focus of much research in recent years and several paradigms have been employed to investigate the issue. None of these paradigms provides easily interpretable results. The difficulties involved in the use of the different methodologies, their relevance in explaining contradictory results and their impact on the development of a theory of lexical ambiguity resolution are discussed.
