Inversion from Articulatory Movements to Control Forces

 A. S. Leonov and V. N. Sorokin

Abstract:

A new mathematical model of speech production and controlling is under consideration. Inverse problems of finding articulatory controls from measured movements of the vocal tract was solved for the model with various functional classes of controls. The best result was achieved for piecewise linear discontinuous controls. The upper boundary for the rate of information transmission on articulatory dynamics (controls) over telecommunication channels was estimated as 2500 bit/sec .
