Abstract:
If qualia evolved they must belong to the Physical World. Yet
current physics and chemistry, which are supposed to describe
this world, has no place for them. On the other hand, if qualia
evolved we should expect there to be brain machinery devoted to
their production-"qualagens"-and a phylogeny of qualia and
qualagens to be discovered.
